With an excess in cassava production out of an estimated 22 million tones, the over 700,000 metric tons of wheat flour which only hurts our GDP, can be substituted with an alternative cassava flour for bread and pastries according to a study by the Crop Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
