Guyanese Bakery Haul and Review

Sal has been wanting some Guyanese beef patties, so we decided to take a drive to Scarborough and visit a couple of places. The first place we stopped was Naraine's Bakery Inc, the smell when you walk in is heavenly. Nothing smell better than freshly baked bread and goods. The girls went nuts gathering their haul. We walked out with salara, cheese rolls, cheese straws, 3 bags of tennis rolls, plait bread, butter flaps, coconut buns, pine tarts, an assortment of pastry, plantain chips, beef patties (I think I got it all down). While we were admiring the store and deciding on what to take home, there was a steady stream of customers. Everyone was friendly and talkative. Sal even ran into someone whose family knows his, what a small world indeed! We asked where we might find some black/blood pudding/sausage, Shereen's Guyanese Bakery and Roti shop was recommended. The kind gentleman even went as far as to call the shop and ask if they had some on hand, asked for them to put them aside for us as we were on our way! Shereen's shop has that familiar scent of warm spices. J also commented that it reminded her of her uncle's home and felt very comfortable being there. The shop has some grocery items and a hot table with freshly made food and desserts. We were too late for the eggballs though. Our black pudding was waiting for us and we grabbed a couple other items to sample. This was also a very friendly and welcoming environment with a steady stream of customers picking up items from the hot table. Our next stop was the Scarborough Bluffs, because we can't drive all that wa and not take in the beauty of this wonderful place. The girls had a great time climbing the rocks and taking pictures. The only downfall was not enough parking spaces (it took awhile to get a spot) and the ice cream truck was cash only :( Overall it was a great day with the family :)
