How Many Countries Are Poorer Than Jeff Bezos?

Jeff Bezos Made 47.9 billion dollars last year. That makes him richer than most countries. Find out how many of them are and if your country is poorer than Jeff Bezos. If not, just continue reading here: JEFF BEZOS IS NOW THE RICHEST MAN ALIVE When I found out at the beginning of 2018 that Jeff Bezos was the richest man alive (and even the richest man in history after some) I knew that I had to make a video about it. I already showed you how a trillion dollars looks like. It all started as a simple visualization of how I would show the countries poorer than Jeff Bezos, but the final video turned out to mean more work. First, I had to get some data. I went to Bloomberg and I saw they had reaaaaally nice visualizations and graphs and everything. I found out how much Jeff Bezos’s net worth increased in 2017 (47.9 billion dollars) and I compared them with data I collected on Wikipedia on GDP, which is basically how much money a country makes in a year. EDIT: I made a grave mistake here that I didn’t realize until I already finished the video. I initially went with data from IMF, which didn’t have all of the countries and after I read more about the World’s Bank 2016 report I saw that I left 7 countries out of the animations. You can see them in italic at the end of the list. I found some nice pictures, got a map of Shutterstock, a nice beat and, weirdly enough, free to use recordings of people pronouncing the names of these countries. It wasn’t any animated comparisons, I had some real freestyle rap of Steve and Francois from Wikipedia. In the end, I saw that Jeff Bezos made more money than 101 countries! Fascinating, bizarre, I don’t know what to say about this. As I’m watching my own video and see the map getting more and redder, I don’t know what to think about the world. It’s hard to fully understand.
