Here's what I love about having my own car in a new country: I can get a little lost, pull over to see things and stop anyone I like for a chat. Suriname's Commewijne District is full of lonely country roads and friendly people. My plan was to visit Peperpot Nature Park, the Fredericksdorp Plantage (Plantation) and Fort New Amsterdam (Nieuw Amsterdam).
