St Maarten is a popular Caribbean island visited by most cruise ships sailing eastern Caribbean cruises. Built in Philipsburg’s charming old architectural style, the Harbour Point Village contains duty-free outlets, souvenir shops, market stalls, several bars, and restaurants. If the shops don’t have flat entry, most will have a blue concrete ramp to enter.   Here you can meet wheelchair accessible tours and excursions,  as well as bus and cab stands. None of the taxis are wheelchair accessible. 2 ways to get into town. a 15 minute roll down front street and boardwalk, or one of the water taxis with a metal ramp to get on board, only 5 minutes. Careful, some of the water taxis have stairs. With a true tropical flare. St Maartens accessibility is improving.
