St. Thomas Carnival 2025 Erupts with Kes the Band’s Electrifying Set

St Thomas USVI Carnival culminated last week with killer headliners in the carnival village. Kes the Band Kes the Band, often referred to simply as Kes, is a Trinidadian soca group formed in 2005. The band was originally comprised of lead vocalist Kees Dieffenthaller, his brothers Hans (drums) and Jon (guitar), and their childhood friend Riad Boochoon (bass) . Kes is renowned for their eclectic blend of musical styles, combining soca with elements of R&B, pop, rock, EDM, and reggae. This fusion has propelled them to mainstream popularity both in Trinidad and Tobago and across the Caribbean diaspora . The band has released several albums, including “Three Baldheads and a Dread” (2006), “Lion” (2007), “On in 5” (2009), “Wotless” (2011), “Stereotype” (2011), “Wired” (2012), “MadMen Productions Presents: Kes” (2014), “Windows to the World” (2014), “We Home” (2020), and “Man With No Door” (2024) . Kes has collaborated with various artists, including Joss Stone, Shaggy, Busy Signal, Shenseea, Snoop Dogg, Major Lazer, and Tessanne Chin .
