St. Martin's Day is a dutch tradition more popular in North Holland and the southern province of Limburg here in the Netherlands. It's somewhat a version of Trick or Treat that is more popular in the west during Halloween. This year we continued the tradition by going door to door in one of our neighborhoods in Amsterdam and the boys always enjoyed gettign sweets (and also tricky treats! a.k.a. carrots and mandarin this year!).
